Elena Clement is currently the Executive Pastry Chef at Chevy Chase (Md.) Club. She earned an AOS from the Florida Culinary Institute in 1992 and began her career at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company in Florida where she spent six years. Elena was part of the opening team for the Ritz Carlton, Palm Beach before moving to the Naples property. It was there that she worked with Norman Love, Corporate Pastry Chef for the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, and was able to refine her mastery of pastry arts. She went on to become the assistant pastry chef for Sweet Jane’s, an upscale, wholesale bakery in Durham, North Carolina.
Prior to joining Johnson & Wales University, Elena was the Executive Pastry Chef and owner of Perfect Pastries LLCTM, a high-end, wholesale pastry company in Denver, Colorado. She was a full-time Associate Instructor and the Department Chair for the International Baking and Pastry Institute at Johnson & Wales University in Denver.
In 2012, she started The Guiding Knife, a small, woman-owned business that provided baking, pastry and culinary training to clients at their location.
Elena is currently the Executive Pastry Chef at Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, MD. The Chevy Chase Club has been an institution in the Washington D.C. metropolitan landscape since 1892, and continues to be recognized nationally as one of the Top Fifteen private clubs in the United States among 4,500 clubs nationwide. The property features multiple dining outlets to include formal dining, casual dining as well as banquet facilities.
Elena is a Certified Executive Pastry Chef (CEPC®), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Chefs (AAC®). She is also a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, Washington, DC chapter.
